Conferences
Overview - Trent from the water

In addition to our picturesque location and spacious natural environment, we offer well-equipped rooms for meetings, executive meetings and full conference sessions. With a wide variety of accessible spaces on campus, we can offer you theatres, lecture halls, small meeting rooms, relaxing lounges, pleasant dining rooms, and at the end of your day, overnight delegates will be well rested in our comfortable beds in both single and double accommodation. Less formal social meeting spaces are found in lounges, common rooms and similar areas. The university has five theatres, 50 seminar rooms and seven licensed lounges and dining areas that can accommodate conferences of up to 800 delegates.

Planning Your Conference

Trent's conference staff know that careful planning and design of your conference is essential to its success. For that reason, we make a special effort to ensure that these facets of your conference receive the attention they deserve. Our representatives will be happy to meet with you so that your organization's needs and goals can be translated into an effective conference session. In addition, we can help you in assessing the probable costs of such a program.

Technical and Support Resources

Attractive and suitably-sized classrooms are available for your conference workshops and seminars. Most meeting spaces, classrooms and lecture halls are outfitted with current audio-visual technology, and our IT department maintains an impressive inventory of equipment available to rent should you require additional items. Internet access and Wi-Fi are available throughout the Trent U campus with your assigned conference specific login.  As well, professional printing facilities, duplicating, and secretarial services are available on site.  Together with an exceptional conference staff, we can make your next conference a memorable experience.

Food Services at Trent University

We know that good dining is essential to any successful conference. Trent University's conference operation offers a wide range of choices in this respect, ably supported by efficient staff and modern kitchens under the direction of Chartwells Food Services. Together we can ensure a memorable eating experience for the university's guests.

Services offered include convenient cafeteria dining in halls within the college residence areas, coffee breaks that can be delivered anywhere on campus, distinguished facilities for luncheons and banquets and catering at other university locations.

You might already have heard about the wonderfully magnificent grandeur of our Great Hall dining facility in Champlain College! For special events, our chefs can present a delicious dining experience based upon the menu of your choice. Liquor and bar service is available at all licensed rooms on the campus. Let us know what you'd like, and we'd be pleased to suit the particular desires and needs of your organization.

An average conference lasts three days, opening with a reception and dinner, or alternatively a light evening meal, and ending with a luncheon. During a typical conference, the University's food service would be called upon to provide two breakfasts, two lunches, one dinner and one banquet.
